Turin: Explore Different Attractions of the Elegant City

Posted on 26 March 2019 by admin (0)

Turin stands on river Po and is not frequented by tourists at large. However, it has a lot more to offer than you know. The stunning architecture and the culture of the city will melt your heart. It is a perfect blend of old and new. If you are visiting the city any time soon, there are few of my most favorite spots that you can check out.

Palazzo Reale

This is Turin’s Royal Palace and had been established in the 16th century. It is located at the heart of the city and is an iconic building. The square layout of the structure makes it appear unique. The palace’s front façade has stonework with several ornate windows making it look official and stately. Inside I found stunningly designed rooms. It showcases true Italian workmanship. I took a guided tour to learn more about the palace.

Palazzo Madama

The city is filled with several historical buildings. Palazzo Madama is the second most popular one. The original structure has stood for over 100 years and had been renovated in subsequent years. It serves as a defensive fortification and it is only in the 13th century that it turned into a palace. The ornate columns of the front façade are marvelous. I went around marveling at the sculptures. Take the staircase to check out the decadence of different rooms.

Mole Antonelliana

This is the most attractive building in the city. Mole Antonelliana looks up to the skyline and is considered to be an iconic structure. Although it was created in 1889, it looks pretty older. Now, you will find the National Cinema Museum here. I came to learn that this is the tallest museum in the world. It is visible from several points in the city. Do not miss out on this when you visit Turin.
